In my Tuesday grammar and writing classes, we have recently been focused on how our word choices affect our tone. In this lesson, we were particularly looking at the different connotations that different words carry, and how we can use these to convey positive or negative tones. The final task was to write about a car accident from two perspectives: one more positive, one more negative. The events had to be the same, so the only way to create a different tone was through vocabulary choice. This student has shown an excellent grasp of this skill and has produced two very effective pieces of work. Well done!
