On the theme of Halloween I asked one of my kindergarten students to write a poem. We started the lesson by reading an acrostic poem based on the word ‘Halloween’ for inspiration. This was her poem using the word ‘Candy’:

Can you hear
All the bats
Now they are
Dancing in the sky
You need to eat candy
