Mickey Wong

Understanding learners is the most important part of teaching them. Only when you understand their interests can you make the lesson interesting to them; and only when you understand their obstacles can you ensure they’re overcome.

Mickey Wong has studied in both Hong Kong and Mainland China, giving him a range of strengths and helping him see the process of learning from different perspectives. At HKU, he studied the seemingly unrelated subjects of Statistics and Counselling, which he sees as sharing the same goal: learning more about people. Both subjects feed into Mickey’s beliefs about his teaching and his ability to understand his students’ needs. He has put these skills to great use in a local secondary school, gaining over 6 years of teaching experience before joining i-Learner.
