Teacher Diaries: Mr. Alvin – Non-Fiction
TweetThere are so many amazing stories that have happened to a lot of people. That is why we need autobiographies to record them, so as to keep them shared among us. Thanks to the existence of autobiographies, I can read Gandhi’s story – one of the most inspiring personal stories I have come across.
While Gandhi is often portrayed as a hero in media, My Experiments with Truth shows Gandhi as a human being. When you are reading the book, you are peering into Gandhi’s mind and seeing how Gandhi thoughtfully evaluates his way of life and his vegetarianism. You will also understand how his persistence in seeking the truth drives him to serve his country with all his effort. Like most autobiographies, you can learn to see a famous person as a human being instead of a glamorised figure.
