After several lessons of consolidating previous knowledge, my P5 students started learning the structure and application of the past perfect tense. They were so engaged in class, so they picked up the concepts very quickly. One of the students did an exceptionally good job in demonstrating her strong understanding of the new tense. Not only was she able to answer the fill-in-the-blank questions with good accuracy, but she also managed to write about an incident that she regrets using various sentence patterns formed by the past perfect tense. It’s really impressive to see a P5 student being able to form Type 3 conditional sentences using the tense she had just learnt and write a structured story!
